Gossip

The topic I wanted to focus on in my creative reflection is gossip. Gossiping can cause destruction in the work environment. Talking bad about a co-workers can lead to low morale within the unit. Gossiping may also create the impression that I may not be trusted and could easilygossip about them too.

Engaging in gossiping creates a toxic work environment and should be avoided in the workplace. Instead, redirect the conflict to a nursing manager who has the resources to handle the situation.

My drawing is of a forest fire. The fire spreading in the forest is a representation of gossip spreading in the work environment. It takes one small flame to start a huge forest fire. This parallels with how gossiping to another staff leads to the spread of rumors and false information. As a result, this hinders teamwork and causes tension amongst healthcare providers
